SNAP and TANF Employment and Training Programs
Are you eligible for this training program?
Program participants must:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Receive SNAP or TANF benefits.
- Reside in Franklin, Jackson, Saline, or Williamson County.
- Attend orientation and appointments with caseworkers.
- Be willing to complete required training and/or worksite hours.

How to apply?
For SNAP recipients, call 618.453.1447 to complete an over-the-phone intake assessment.
For TANF recipients, call your Illinois Department of Human Services caseworker to request a referral to SIU's SNAP or TANF E&T Programs.
If you are not receiving SNAP or TANF benefits, visit your local Illinois Department of Human Services office to learn more and request a referral to SIU's SNAP or TANF E&T Programs.

Possible supportive services include assistance with:
- Transportation.
- Work-related clothing.
- Education and training support.
- Personal hygiene and related products.
- And other barriers that keep someone from working.
